Rolland Harper Maybee was born on January 6, 1901 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Harper C. Maybee (1876-1954) and Blanche Maybee (1879-1970). During World War II, Moore (1904-1988) served in India in the ICSATC, the U.S. Air Force's India-China Wing Air Transport Command, 1942-1945. Their job was to supply the U.S. Army units based in China and Chiang Kai-Shek's war efforts. On March 11, 1942, Moore was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and then his unit was shipped to India.
